「BUDDIES」Nan Qi & Yu Cun Dual Exhibition
 
As two well-known artists in the field of Chinese contemporary art, Nan Qi and Yu Cun are very different in character and works, but they are a pair of good "buddies" who cherish each other and appreciate each other. The two often chat about art together, and various topics are extended and superimposed with deep meaning, once others saw that they didn't know what this pair of good “buddies” were talking about, but NAN and YU were so intoxicated that even stayed up all night. In my opinion, they can be said to be Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi in the contemporary art world.
I am touched by the friendship between the two artists, not only for their personalities but also for their works. Professor Ji Shaofeng, a famous art critic, commented on Nanqi's works: "Nanqi creatively endows static images with a sense of dynamism, making two-dimensional ink painting move towards three-dimensional expression., which not only subverts people's usual visual experience, but also makes paper-based ink and wash a big step forward." As for Yu Cun's works, the famous art critic Li Xianting said:“ Yucun's paintings feel like they were written! I think this is very important! I think it was from Guanliang to Literati painting to Yucun, and now Yu has painted this thing alive! This is a great value of him!”
It is a rare artistic phenomenon in the art world that ARTL GALLERY can invite two artists with different artistic styles to present this "BUDDIES" dual exhibition. At the same time, it also reflects the professionalism and academic innovation of ARTL. I wish the exhibition a complete success!
