Overview

Nan Qi or Nan Xi is a Chinese artist based in Beijing.

He is best known for his "halo dot" paintings which conbine

traditional Chinese ink painting methodology with modern technology,

creating a "Ben-Day" dot effect.

Nan Qi's achievement in ink art is mainly to broaden the context of
contemporary art, and to make the technology of today's digital age merge
with the veins of thousands of years of traditional Chinese art, he created  set of
"Nan's three methods of ink and wash - Nan's brush path, Nan's halo point,
Nan's three-dimensional ink and wash He has created a set of "Nan's three
methods of ink painting - Nan's brush path, Nan's halo point, and Nan's three-
dimensional ink painting",  which has made ink on paper a big step forward from
the art language itself. The innovative spirit and artistic creativity as well as
the pioneering nature of Nan Xi's art have had a profound impact in the ink
painting world and the contemporary art world.

Awards

Since 1999, Nan has won many outstanding awards in the field of art at home and abroad. In 2018, he was awarded the "Samaranch Culture Award" by the Samarach Foundation in Spain.
