Zhao Bing's paintings focus a lot on the "light" and "shadow" with high class colors,and gentle and delicate strokes. Those classical light and shadow, romantic color, and expressionist strokes are his traces while passing Hangzhou,Italy,and Shanghai.
Recording fragmented things and moments, he detaches his creating subjects as much as possible from its own daily attributes and allows different medias to collide with each other through rich imagination and reorganization of reality, creating dramatic conflicts and visually illusionous spatial effects. Those instant memories converse into light and shadow, and become pictures in the process of repeating and waiting, just like in the flowing state of time, feeling with heart and capturing the texture of the mind and time ... going through the soul, and coming to be oneself.
Gifted, artists are more perceptive than normal people. They could feel more darkness and pain, as well as light and heat. But the lucky part is that the process of creation is like chiseling a wall for light, which would come in through the cracks. Creation being the channel, they look for light through the cracks, or the light comes in through the cracks. "The happiest and most inspiring time for me is when the light suddenly comes in through the cracks."
Each of his paintings only deals with one broken subject, all of which, therefore, could come together for his complete expression, just like digital composition.His paintings also incontestably implies the current times: unconscious, confusing, lacking in reason and human glory, with only partial and fragmentary truth.
