The behavior of "painting," which emerged almost simultaneously with the appearance of humanity, is essentially the same as the current form of painting. This proves that the act of painting is innate to humans. For humans, the act of painting is extremely primitive. In other words, "painting" is one of the oldest verbs that appeared when a species called humans first appeared in the world. The form of painting closest to this verb, as the longest-standing artistic behavior of humans, has continued to the present day. Painters are the dominant figures leading art history, prophets of the times and human development, coexisting with humans.

Nevertheless, we are still seriously discussing the crisis in painting in recent years. Since the "Fourth Industrial Revolution" was proposed at the Davos Forum in January 2016, intelligent information technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and ChatGPT that we did not anticipate are rapidly changing the world. This development trend also affects art, exhibitions and education around the world are actively exploring the integration of science. Previously,"creativity, empathy, and intuitive judgment" have always been regarded as exclusive to human beings, so can artificial intelligence really be developed to this extent?

ARTL GALLERY curates this exhibition to deny the concern and confirm that painters are still effective and powerful witnesses of the times. Because even if we live in an era of skepticism about the possibility of "pure painting", we still observe the times and foresee the future through painting. Painting, coexisting with human history, is the strongest language for telling the times, and will continue to be so in the future.
